Practicing Self-control in Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Manila

BIG BAD WOLF GOES TO MANILA

Last February 16 was the first day of Big Bad Wolf Book Sale in Manila and being a bookgeek, I didn't wanna miss it. On a hot Monday afternoon, we went to World Trade Center to score discounted books.

HOW TO GET THERE

It's easier to get to World Trade Center if you have a car or via Grab/Uber but if you're as poor as I am, you can take a jeep bound to and from Mall of Asia and Buendia (near LRT). It will pass by WTC. Fare is only 8 pesos.

WHAT TO EXPECT

1. Entrance is free.

2. Lots of Children's books of course. At least half of the place. I'm getting used to seeing a lot of Children's books and toys in book sales.

3. It's fully airconditioned so it's easier to go around. I expected it to be humid so I was surprised.

4. The books are arranged by genres but not specific category. For instance, there are Business Books section but you won't easily find a book about sales, stock market, or real estates. You get me? And the staffs don't know them too.

5. I don't know if it's still there but there's a Carry-All-You-Can when we got there. Like a buffet of magazines worth 200 pesos.

6. There were 2 price tags for some books: sale price and member's price. Some member's price were half the sale price.

TIPS

1. Be a member. Register in Big Bad Wolf website to get more discounts. You won't regret it, it's free. I stupidly registered AFTER I went there so... don't make the same mistake!
2. Food is not allowed. Common sense but still.
3. Take your precious time. It's 24 hours and there are a loooot of books.
4. Bring patience and endurance. You need a lot of it since you're on your own. The staffs are there to fill, refill, arrange, and rearrange books but they can't help you find this specific category or title.
5. The Cashier is in Hall D. The place was too huge so they really needed a separate place for check out counters.
6. The Exit is also in Hall D. If you wanna take a selfie inside the hall, do it before exiting otherwise  you need to enter again and they will put lock in your plastic bag to ensure you won't steal anything. It just felt like a lot of hardwork for just a selfie, right?
7. Enjoy. As always, it's a fun shopping if you're shopping for knowledge. Gosh! I'm so inspirational!

The book sale runs until February 25 so better catch it now. Sorry this is such a late post (3 days late) but still, better late than never. See you next book sale!
